Australian Government is now offering a rebate on ceiling insulation
worth up to $1200
What is free insulation?
One of the Australian Government's Energy Efficient Homes Package key objectives is to insulate 2.7 Million homes with ceiling insulation by the year 2012.
The package offers as from the 2 November 2009 free insulation to:
owner/occupiers to the value of $1200
landlords to the value of $1200
Homeowners/occupiers who are eligible:
The criteria for free insulation for residential ceilings are defined as follows;
You are a home owner-occupier - that is, you live in your own home
You don't already have ceiling insulation
You are installing insulation in an existing home on or after 2 February 2009 (excludes new homes or extensions to existing homes)
You are an Australian citizen or permanent resident aged 18 years or over.
How can I arrange to have my ceiling insulated?

Note: the rebate is not available to homeowners who want to install the insulation themselves. It must be done by a licensed insulation professional.
How do I get my free ceiling insulation?
As of the 1st of July 2009 the Federal Government will cover the cost of the installation of ceiling insulation up to $1,200. Simply contact Energymasta or call ACIMA for your nearest installer in your State. We take care of all the paperwork so you can just sit back and relax.
Can I choose my insulation type?
As a consumer you are able to specify your insulation. The Federal Government recommends that you contact your local insulation companies to obtain specific information on the insulation click here
